New Year, Same You?

It’s that wonderful time of year, where the calendar has reset and we’ve just tip-toed into a new beginning. The possibilities are endless when considering what you will (or won’t) accomplish in the coming days, weeks and months. Maybe you are someone who journals pages of things you’d like to accomplish, you’ve bulleted your lists, you’ve even gathered pictures to create your dream board. Because that’s how you set goals.

Maybe you are someone who doesn’t even know where to start and the thought of creating some sort of visual that represents your hopes and dreams, is just way too overwhelming. Because that’s how YOU set goals. Truth be told, there is no one way to set goals that will work for everyone. I can give advice and suggestions on different methods that might resonate with you, but that’s surface level and I like to go deeper. :)

So before you can set goals, have a conversation with yourself.

Start asking yourself some questions…..

What do you think of this past year?

What did you like?

What didn’t you like?

How did you show up?

Do you like how you showed up?

Did any relationships change?

What do you think of those changes?

Be honest with yourself. You can show your answers to someone if you’d like, but you really don’t have to. The answers to these questions are truly for you. You can write them down or you can ponder them on your heart if some of them seem a little scary. Either way, allow yourself the freedom to answer the questions truthfully. Tomorrow we’ll talk about what to do with your answers.
