Mental Preparation

Preparation goes a long way. When working with a client I start by uncovering their unintentional thought process that is creating certain emotions and driving their actions. Typically, these actions are leading to a result that they don’t want. Maybe they snapped at their child in a way they didn’t intend to. Or maybe they feel utterly lost as they try to parent a challenging child. As we uncover their reflexive thinking and behaviors, we can create a new thought pattern that will interrupt the go-to emotions and actions. As we move toward intentional thought patterns, we can anticipate future situations with less fear. When we work thru the mental preparation now we can eliminate the fear based parenting that so often creates contention within our relationships
